Album Review

Midas Touch: The Best of Midnight Star was released in the U.K. in 2002 and pretty much echoes the stateside Midnight Star compilations that have been scattered throughout the years. Obvious selections like "Don't Rock the Boat," "Operator," "Freak-a-Zoid," "Headlines," "Midas Touch," "Wet My Whistle," and "No Parking (On the Dance Floor)" are included, along with four other singles that charted in the U.S. from 1980 through 1988. Though the disc might seem a little skimpy at 11 tracks, it's worth noting that the compilers routinely provide the original album or extended mix of each track, which tend hit the seven- or eight-minute mark. (And that's a good thing.)
