Pat Williams' quiet, respectable version of the mod brass sound of the late '60s. He has an incredible array of great jazz horn men (not to mention pianist
Dick Hyman) on hand playing arranged pop. "Recado Bossa Nova," "Chicken Feathers," and "I Say a Little Prayer" are among the livelier numbers. Tacked onto the end of the album -- perhaps because they stray too deeply into
Herb Alpert's "Mexicali brass" territory -- are the upbeat and camp "What've You Got to Lose?" and "Mexican Breakfast."
