On his second of three albums as a leader for Jazzology, bassist Bob Haggart performs ten veteran standards, including six that have cities, states or countries in their titles, plus "Song of the Wanderer." Cornetist Tom Pletcher (best known for his work with the Sons of Bix) is the star soloist, but there are also fine spots for valve trombonist Mike Katz, tenorman Jack Howe, bass saxophonist Spencer Clark, and pianist Dill Jones; in addition, Ron Hockett is joined by fellow clarinetist Bill Rappaport on two numbers. The music has the flavor of a spirited jam session, but is well conceived and logical.
