As usual,
Sugar had plenty left over for worthy B-sides for
Your Favorite Thing, which, again, is such an embarrassment of riches, one doesn't even skip it to get at the three non-LP songs! "Mind Is an Island" is a scratchy ripper, and, best of all, "And You Tell Me (TV Mix)" should have been added to the LP, it's another good change-up instrumental from a band who now has a few memorable ones under their belt (ever heard "Clownmaster" off the
If I Can't Change Your Mind single?) The mix of alternating chaste-hush and snarling guitar is aural paradise. Additionally, we get the second composition by underrated
Barbe (his third
Sugar B-side, of his now four songs released outside of his other bands
Mercyland and
Buzz Hungry). The captivating performance on "Frustration" helps overcome the plodding tempo but quick!
