You would assume a megastar like Paul McCartney would charge a pretty penny for his performance during the Olympic Opening Ceremony, right?

Well, reports from The Hollywood Reporter are saying that the Beatles singer only got paid one British Pound for the gig.

A London 2012 spokesperson told the Agence France-Presse that the top talents practically give their services for free.

"The top talent basically gave their services for free. But in order to have a formal contract for their services you have to show an amount, so that was set at a pound, which enables them to have a contractual arrangement."

Funny enough, the spokesperson added that the checks haven’t cleared yet.

"I don't imagine they're going to be fretting too much about it. We greatly appreciate all of them for giving up their time."
