Shaw Media and Insight Productions announced Monday that there will be a national casting call for the first Canadian Edition of Big Brother.

Vancouverites who are 19 or older will have the opportunity on August 1^st to audition for the hit reality show, which originated in the Netherlands in 1999.

If you aren’t familiar with the reality TV show, it documents the life of a group of 12-16 strangers who share a home for three months.

Contestants compete to avoid eviction and the winner receives a cash prize.

Potential contestants can also apply online (www.bigbrothercanada.ca) with a short video starting on September 23.
