Madonna Sued Over Vogue
Madonna is being sued over her iconic 90’s dance hit, Vogue, and it’s all because she didn’t pay to use certain sampling from a record company.
VMG Salsoul filed a lawsuit in LA claiming the Material Girl sampled horns and strings from Salsoul Orchestra’s 1977 dance song, Chicago Bus Stop (Ooh, I Love It).
The record company claims that the singer never paid to use these samples, which resulted in her illegally profiting off of it since its release in 1990.
If you are wondering what took them so long to file suit, VMG Salsoul says that the samples aren’t identifiable but due to new technology they are now able to identify the distinct sounds.
VMG Salsoul is suing for copyright infringement and has yet to specify damages.
