While Jennifer Lopez is busy sitting on the American Idol fence Steven Tyler has leaped off and started running in the other direction.

He will not be returning to the American Idol judging table. Tyler has even gone so far as to compare the show to a deranged bunny killer.

His statement is as follows, “After some long ... hard ... thoughts ... I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress ‘American Idol’ before she boils my rabbit.”

If you don’t know the reference, it’s from the movie “Fatal Attraction” and points to the women who kills her lover’s daughter’s rabbit.

Tyler will be using his time away from Idol to get back to his rock roots. “On Nov. 6, we are unleashing our new album, Music from Another Dimension on the Earth, Moon, Mars, and way beyond the stars. IDOL was over-the-top fun, and I loved every minute of it ... Now it’s time to bring Rock Back. ERMAHGERD,” he explains.
