Adele has a lot to be excited about with the announcement that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Simon Konecki.

"I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together," the Grammy-winning singer, 24, announced on her website Friday.

Although the couple is overjoyed with the start of their family, they are asking for respect and privacy.

"I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time."
