My weight loss story so far: The first time I did the Pound A Day Diet, I lost 40 pound in 40 days. I went from 152 pounds to 112 pounds. I continued the program several more times and lost another 20 pounds. 60 in total.
I've gained some of that weight back. (Some is an understatement!)
I'm back on the program this Fall, and looking for inspiration.
I have inspiration in my workplace, here at Virgin Radio.
Stacey Jenkins, works in our accounting department, and lost a lot of weight on the Pound A Day diet. And she has kept it off!!!!!!!
She inspires me!
So how did she do it?
How is she doing it?
Erin: Has weight been an issue for you, throughout your life?
Stacey: I never really had a weight problem as a kid or an adult, I gained weight after I severed my Achilles tendon back in 2004, I was unable to walk for 9 months. A few years went by and I started to realize that the weight was not going to fall off by itself (like it would back in the day). I had tried to get back to the gym but the timing was just off, I worked full time and had 3 girls to look after when I got home from work so the gym was definetly out. I had seen the other weight loss programs advertising on the TV and radio, but the people I spoke to about those programs really didn't have anything positive to say. Then I came across the Dr. Oz show and they were talking about the 'Pound A Day' diet, and when they said a pound a day, it got me thinking. After six months of research and visit with my doctor about the diet, I decided to bite the bullet so to speak and just give it a try.
Erin: How much did you weigh when you started?
Stacey: My normal weight even after having 3 babies always went back to 130 - 135lbs, but after my ankle it jumped up to 189lbs and didn't budge AT ALL. I stayed at that weight for 7 years.
Erin: So you started the program?
Stacey: I started the pound a day weight loss diet July 1 2011 a month before my parents re-newed their wedding vows - the date for this was Aug 20 2011. The first day I started and stepped on the scale to see my weight drop to 188, then 187 the next day then 186 and it just kept coming off. I not only noticed the weight loss in the cloths I was wearing but my energy level went up I went from 189lbs to 147lbs by August 20 2011. In just 3 weeks. One of the best days of my life!!
Erin: How have you kept it off?
Stacey: I have kept the weight off and its now October 2012!!! I have kept my meal portions small, plating my food like a smile : one half of the plate is all vegetables or salad, then the other side is split into 2 - 1, protein, 2. Carbs. Drinking water all the time helps for sure, and I walk all the time after work. I would do this diet again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone who has struggled with their weight. My advice it can't hurt to try..and you will be amazed by the results!!!!!!!
