Moving ....
Sucks.
All the experts say moving is one of the most stressful events in life. (right after death in the family)
The Davis-Dunbar Family has moved TWICE in the past year...and I can tell you it's true! But I can share some tips on how to make a move, a little less stressful:
1. Frog Box. Frog Box delivers big, strong, clean, plastic boxes to your home. They are all the same size, which makes packing, stacking and MOVING....easier. After the move, Frog Box picks up the boxes and uses them again. Cool and green. (Did you know Frog Box is a local company....seen on Dragon's Den?)
2. Get your kids to help. My daughters, Ainsley and Charlotte packed their own room, and all of their belongings. They did a great job. Trust your kids to take care of the things they LOVE...and they will. I also think its important to get the kids involved in the move. I found with my girls, the more they knew about the move, the more we talked about it, the more comfortable they felt with the whole thing.
3. Wine. 'nuff said.
4. Reward. If you're going to make a move, then reward yourself, and your family! Maybe dinner out, or a family get-a-way. After we made our move, we treated ourselves (and Ginger) to a night at The Fairmont, Chateau Whistler. A swim in The Chateau's outdoor pool, at the base of Blackcomb Mountain...can make everything better!
5. Remember your pets during your move. Our Labradoodle, Ginger was definelty out of sort while we packed our house. Animals need lots of TLC during a move, too.
