Life is a landmine when you're dieting.
Most of life's great occasions involve food. (Holiday, birthdays, anniversaries)
Correction: ALL of life's great occasions involve food.
And that's why losing weight is hard...if you want to live your life...you’re going to be around food.
I'll be camping this weekend with my sweet little family.
I haven't camped in several years, and I had forgotten that camping is ALOT about food.
I've been planning our meals all week.
And of course, I'm trying to plan healthy meals....but also want include some treats.
(When I asked my co-worker, Scooter what we should eat this camping weekend, he said, 'CANDY'. :0) One of his favourite camping memories is eating big bags of candy with his brother and sister)
But even without big bags of CANDY, the calorie count for camping is pretty high!
2 pancakes 140 calories
2TBSP of Aunt Jemima Regular Syrup has 110 calories.
3 strips of bacon 103 (not too mention 8 grams of fat, and 439 mg of sodium!!!!)
1 glass of orange juice 112
That’s 465 calories FOR BREAKFAST!!!!
Lean ground hamburger 145
2TBSP mayonnaise 90 Calories
Cheese 1 slice....113 calories
That’s 386 calories for THE BURGER.....I haven't started counting baked potato, salads, dessert.
When I entered SMORES in the calorie counter it came back with 987!!!!! Yikes!!!!
And as for Bailey's (which in a previous life, was one of my little camping necessities)
100ml is 327
Wow…what an eye opener. Camping is a dangerous pastime for anyone trying to watch their weight!
For the record if you’re camping at Porpoise Bay this weekend, I’ll be the lady eating chicken breast and asparagus! :0)
Enjoy the weekend!
